Tiger Found Dead In UPs Dudhwa Tiger Reserve

Lucknow: An adult tiger was found dead in Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary of the Dudhwa tiger reserve in UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri district on Sunday evening.

The carcass of the tiger aged 8 years was found on the banks of a canal in the Sultanpur beat in Kishanpur Range of the reserve located on India’s border with Nepal in the Terai area.

There were no visible injury marks on its body indicating infighting or electrocution.A slight swelling around its neck was noticed.

The autopsy will be done by a panel of doctors at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute in Bareily,said a statement released by Dudhwa Tiger Reserve field director Sanjay Pathak.

The actual cause of death would be known after the post-mortem.

The state has lost three tigers this month.
