The Kashmir Files team meets PM Narendra Modi, receives appreciation

The Kashmir Files team including director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, his wife and actress Pallavi Joshi, and the film’s producer Abhishek recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and received appreciation for the film.

After a series of controversy and legal issue, The Kashmir Files finally managed to hit the screens on March 11 this year. However on March 12, the team met the PM and received appreciation for the project.

Based on actual incidents and narrated from the Kashmiri Pandit’s point of view, director Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ is a dramatised version of events that occurred in the early 90s. The Kashmir Pandits were mis-treated and forced to leave their homeland. As well as those who protested were murdered. The movie attempts to show the dark history to the public.

Meantime, the film’s team had a brief meeting with the PM following the response it has received from the audience.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, gave details of the meeting on a tweet that read, “THE KASHMIR FILES’ TEAM MEETS PM MODI… #TheKashmirFiles producers #AbhishekAgarwal, #PallaviJoshi and #VivekRanjanAgnihotri [who has directed the film] met Hon. Prime Minister Shri #NarendraModi ji… The Prime Minister appreciated the team as well as the film.”

‘The Kashmir Files’ witnessed a whooping Rs 3.55 crore opening at the box office despite a limited release. Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter handle to announce he movie’s immense success and wrote, “#TheKashmirFiles springs a BIGGG SURPRISE on Day 1 Despite limited showcasing [630+ screens], the film goes from strength to strength during the course of the day Evening and night shows EXTRAORDINARY SOLID GROWTH on Day 2 and 3 is a surety Fri 3.55 cr. #India biz.”

Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the movie has Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, and Pallavi Joshi among others. The film released under the Zee Studios, IAmBuddha and Abhishek Agarwal Arts banners.
