Article 377: Gautam Gambhir wears bindi, saree to support transgenders

New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir attended the inauguration of the seventh edition of Hijra Habba programme here on Tuesday to support the transgenders.

The event which was organised by the HIV/AIDS Alliance India was held at a Delhi Mall where  transgenders come together for the annual Hijra Habba.

Theme of this year’s Hijra Habba programme is Born This Way.

The event was organised to empower transgenders through speeches and make them feel that they are united. Further, they tried to educate the people that they have got the talent in them to do the best for the country in all the respective fields.

Recently, the Supreme Court delivered a historic verdict regarding the controversial Section 377 which criminalised the transgenders.
