Bhubaneswar: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has donated Rs. 11 lakh to the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Bhubaneswar.
It is to be noted that a few days back Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KISS and KIIT had been featured in the Big B hosted popular TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati’s Karmaveer special episode.
The episode had earned huge recognition from the audience across the world. It had highly impressed senior Bachchan as well. That was the big reason Big B has donated the big amount to KISS as a goodwill gesture.

In the said episode Dr. Samanta had narrated about his life struggle since childhood. Besides, his noble work to empower tribal children through KISS was highly recognized by everybody.
In a letter to Dr. Samanta, Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has mentioned that he got impressed by the steps taken by him in eradicating poverty through imparting quality education to the tribal children and ensuring sustainable livelihood to them. The work of Dr. Samanta is really inspirational and praiseworthy, he stated.
The draft for Rs. 11 lakh from Amitabh Bachchan was received by KISS yesterday. In response, Dr. Samanta thanked Big B for his generosity and also said that the good wish of all the 30 thousand students of KISS is with Bachchan.
