Bhubaneswar: Sub-lieutenant Shivangi becomes the first woman pilot for the Indian Navy today. She was commissioned into the Indian Navy last year after her initial training.

Born in Muzaffarpur of Bihar Shivangi completed her schooling from DAV Public School. She joined operational duties at the Kochi naval base today.

Shivangi will be flying the Dornier surveillance aircraft of the Indian Navy.
“I have been craving for this for a very long time & finally the day is here. It’s a great feeling. I am looking forward to completing my 3rd stage of training,” Sub Lieutenant Shivangi said.
