Srinagar: Firefight between security forces & terrorists at SKIMS hospital

Srinagar: A group of terrorists opened fire at the security forces at SKIMS hospital near the Bemina bypass in Srinagar district on Friday and escaped, officials said.

“There was a brief firefight between terrorists and security forces at SKIMS Hospital, Bemina. Terrorists managed to escape taking advantage of civilian presence,” police said.

A large number of security forces including the J&K police and CRPF were quickly deployed in the area to nab the terrorists. Searches are now ongoing in the adjourning Budgam district to apprehend them.

Additional police parties have reached the spot. The area has been cordoned off.
