Srinagar: 5 BSF jawans injured in militant attack

Srinagar: At least five Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured in a suspected militant attack on their vehicle in the Pantha chowk area on the outskirts of Srinagar city on Monday.

According to a BSF official, gunmen opened fire on the BSF patrol vehicle at the Pantha chowk around 6:15 PM, which left the jawans, who belong to the 163rd battalion, injured.

The injured security personnel, meanwhile, have been hospitalized.  One of them is stated to be in serious condition.

Following the attack on the BSF personnel, security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a hunt to track down the assailants.
