Six of a family killed in road accident in Haryana

Rewari: In a tragic incident six people of a family died after their car hit a road divider, flipped into the opposite carriageway and slammed a tree before crashing into a truck on National Highway 8 in Haryana’s Rewari district today.

The deceased were identified as Champi Kumar, his wife Anita, son Aryan, Champi’s sister Rekha her husband Sunil and Champi’s brother Naresh Kumar.

A woman named Lichma Devi, who is the lone survivor, has been admitted to PGIMS Rohtak. Her condition is said to be serious.

The road mishap took place when they were travelling to Jaipur from New Delhi.

Police reached the spot and sent the bodies to the local general hospital, Rewari, for post-mortem.

On being informed about the matter, the deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Rewari, Suresh Hooda, reached the spot with police force and cleared the traffic.

Hooda said that a case has been registered against the unknown truck driver who fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind.
