Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Saturday announced Supriya Sule and Praful Patel as working presidents of the Nationalist Congress Party.
Mr Pawar made the announcement at the 25th anniversary of the party, founded by him and PA Sangma in 1999.
Supriya Sule has been given the responsibility of Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab, Women Youth and Lok Sabha Coordination, while Praful Patel will look after Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Goa.
Last month, veteran politician Sharad Pawar had taken back his resignation as the national president after his people, party workers, office-bearers and his colleagues were disheartened to hear it.
“I can’t disrespect your sentiments. Due to your love, I am respecting the demand that was made to me to withdraw my resignation and the resolution that was passed by senior NCP leaders. I withdraw my decision to step down as the national president of the NCP,” Pawar had said.
