Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, on Sunday, paid his last respect to Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral at Shivaji Park ground in Mumbai. The actor made a rare appearance and because he arrived much earlier, he patiently waited for his turn. Being a religious person, SRK offered a dua for the singing legend. For a split second he removed his mask and made a gesture which has created a controversy as many took to social media claiming that the star spit on Lata Mangeshkar’s mortal remains.
As a huge debate breaks on Twitter whether or not Shah Rukh spit on Lata’s grave, many argued bringing to notice the fact that he actually blow the air to ward off the evil spirit. To prove the point some aware netizens are even sharing video clips from Shah Rukh Khan’s film My Name is Khan where he is seen performing the same dua for his and Kajol’s son in the film.
Take a look at how SRK’s fans defended him:
Fringe targetting @iamsrk by falsely accusing him of spitting at #LataMangeshkar Ji’s funeral should be ashamed of themselves. He prayed & blew on her mortal remains for protection & blessings in her onward journey. Such communal filth has no place in a country like ours 🤲🏼🙏🏼 pic.twitter.com/xLcaQPu1g8

Rise above hate. This is not spitting but dua.
