Bhubaneswar: Serum Institute of India (SII) has announced the price of Covishield vaccine at Rs 600 per dose for private hospitals and Rs 400 for state government from May 1 that will include vaccinations for all above 18 years of age.
The promising directives will help to scale up vaccine production and allow state governments, private hospitals and vaccination centers to procure vaccines directly. For the next two months the SII will address the limited capacity by scaling up the vaccine production.
50% of capacities will be served to the Government of India’s vaccination program and the remaining 50% of the capacity will be for the state governments and private hospitals, said SII.
Reportedly, the vaccines are still more affordable than the foreign vaccines that costs from ₹ 750 to ₹ 1,500 per dose.
