New Delhi: Amid reports that Pakistan has ‘permanently suspended’ the Samjhauta Express in wake of India’s decision to abrogate Article 370 giving special status the Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Railways has clarified that the train has not been suspended and it will run normally.

Deepak Kumar, CPRO, Northern Railways told ANI, “Pakistan authorities had raised issues regarding security of the train’s crew and guard. We have told them that situation this side is perfectly normal.”

“The train is standing in the Wagah side which has around 110 passengers and our engine has also left from Attari. We’ll bring the train from Wagah to Attari,” he added.

Kumar further informed that 70 passengers are waiting on the Indian side who will be travelling to Pakistan. So to say that the train has been cancelled is not right.
