Samanta Khamari quits Congress over party ticket allotment

Bhubaneswar: In yet another blow to Congress in Odisha, struggling with dissidence over ticket allocation for the upcoming general election, party’s leader from Kalahandi district Samanta Khamari resigned from its primary membership today.

Khamari tendered his resignation to OPCC President Niranjan Patnaik, in which he opposed his decision to allot a ticket to Sagar Das for Bhawanipatna Assembly constituency.

Notably, Khamari was also unhappy over party’s selection of candidates for Lok Sabha seat. He was alleging partiality against party’s former MP Bhakta Charan Das.
