Kolkata: The officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the sensational Kolkata R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital rape and murder case and the financial irregularities of the hospital left the residence of the institute’s former controversial principal Sandip Ghosh at Beliaghata in central Kolkata with piles of documents which they reportedly seized after over 12 hours of marathon search operations.
It is to be noted here that seven-member of the CBI team reached the residence of Ghosh at around 6.50 AM to conduct a search operation. However, the doors for them to enter were opened only after about 90 minutes. During the waiting period, Ghosh was contacted by one of the officers over his mobile phone. However, the calls remained unanswered.
Later six more six more officials joined the raiding team at around 1.30 PM and the entire members came out of the house at around 8.50 PM, however, refused to give any comment regarding the raid and documents.
The special crime unit of the central agency, which also conducted simultaneous raids at other locations, has been questioning Ghosh for nine consecutive days since August 16 over the above mentioned two cases.
