RG Kar rape and murder case: West Bengal Junior Doctors decide to call off strike

Kolkata: The West Bengal Junior Doctors, who were protesting over the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape and murder case, have decided to call off their strikes.

According to ANI, the protesting Junior Doctors front has decided to call off their strike tomorrow and join their duty on Saturday.

Though the emergency services will resume from Saturday, the Out Patient Department (OPD) services to remain suspended.

Notably, the Junior Doctors started their cease work agitation after the body of a 31-year-old female trainee doctor was found in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9. She was brutally raped and murdered, revealed autopsy reports. The incident shocked the entire nation and was heavily condemned by people across the county.

The prime accused Sanjay Roy has been arrested. Besides, several concerned authorities including Sandip Ghosh, the principal of Medical College and Hospital have been arrested. The case is now being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and subjudice in the Supreme Court.
