Unidentified assailants open fires retired IAF officer at a restaurant in Sushant Golf City area, police launch probe
Lucknow: A retired Air Force Officer was allegedly shot by unidentified assailants at his restaurant in Lucknow yesterday night, police said.
The injured had been identified as Awadhesh Kumar Pathak, who currently runs a cloud kitchen in the Anshal Chowki area under Sushant Golf City police station limits. The incident occurred around 10:30 pm when Pathak was walking towards his car, police sources said.
He sustained a gunshot injury in the attack and was immediately rushed to a hospital. His condition is stated to be stable, officials confirmed.
DCP South Nipun Agarwal said that police received information about the shooting yesterday night, following which two armed men reached the spot and initiated the action. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s wife.
Police have launched an investigation to identify the assailants and ascertain the motive behind the attack. Further legal action is underway, officials said.
