Republic Day 2022: PM Modi wears Uttrakhand’s cap, Manipur’s stole at parade

New-Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the National War Memorial on January 26, to pay tribute to martyrs, he was seen wearing Uttarakhand’s traditional cap and Manipur’s stole.

The Prime Minister was also seen wearing a ‘Brahmakamal’, which is the state flower of Uttarakhand. PM Modi is very fond of ‘Brahmakamal’ and uses the flower whenever he performs ‘pooja’ at Kedarnath.

PM Modi paid homage to the fallen soldiers at the newly built National War Memorial (NWM) morning prior to participating in the 73rd Republic Day celebrations and then proceeded to Rajpath where the Republic Day parade is being held.

Last year, PM Modi spotted wearing a colorful Halari Pagh (royal head turban) that was gifted to him by Jamnagar Royal Family for the event.

Modi was accompanied by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as he paid tributes at the solemn ceremony.
