RBI appoints Sitikantha Pattanaik and Rajiv Ranjan as Executive Directors

New-Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India announced that Sitikantha Pattanaik and Rajiv Ranjan have been appointed as executive directors with effect from May 1. The announcement was made on May 13.

Rajiv Ranjan shall also serve as an ex-officio member of the rate setting panel Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).

Before being promoted as the ED, Sitikantha Pattnaik used to be an advisor in the department of economic and policy research (DEPR) and Rajiv Ranjan served as the advisor-in-charge of the Monetary Policy Department as well as the secretary of MPC.

RBI mentioned that as the executive director, Ranjan shall take care of the Monetary Policy Department while Pattnaik will look after the Department of Economic and Policy Research. As Educational background, Ranjan holds a PhD in economics from Mumbai University and a Master’s degree in economics from the Delhi School of Economics, while Pattnaik holds a PhD in economics from the University of Mumbai.
