Rare incident! Man gets 15-day parole to make wife pregnant

In one of the rarest incidents, a man has been granted 15 days on parole by the Jodhpur bench of the Rajasthan High Court to make his wife pregnant.

According to a report of indiatoday.in, the Jodhpur High Court bench of Justices Sandeep Mehta and Farzand Ali has given 15-day parole to 34-year-old Nandlal so that his wife, Rekha, could conceive.

Rekha had sought the release of her husband on the “right of progeny.” While conducting a hearing on her plea, the High Court bench held that her sexual and emotional needs were affected due to her husband’s imprisonment.

The court cited Hindu scriptures including the Rig Veda and also referred to the tenets of Judaism, Christianity and Islam to grant 15-day parole to the prisoner, reported the indiatoday.in adding that the court underscored that of the 16 sacraments (essential ceremonies), conceiving a child is the first and a right of the woman.
