Bhubaneswar: Taking a pot shot at Modi government today during his maiden Odisha after taking charge as the Congress national president, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax (GST) had a deep negative impact on country’s economy and job creation.
While addressing a group of intellectuals and journalists at a twitter town hall event held at hotel Mayfair, the Gandhi scion was of the opinion that, both demonetisation and GST affected the small business segment in the country in past four years.
Later, went to the extent of comparing job creation in China to that of India and claimed there is a growing need to do better on production sector, where the former is well ahead.
Alleging that, the BJP government at the centre has hijacked all policies of the Congress Rahul insisted that the grand old party has a dynamic process of functioning.
“Congress tends to listen to the people, whereas Mr Narendra Modi thinks he knows everything and gives no scope for feedback,” said the Cong president.
Notably, Rahul will address the Paribartan Sankalp Samavesh of Congress scheduled to be held at Tamando Mini Stadium in the city in the afternoon.
