Rahul & Sonia Gandhi to attend Congress Parliamentary Panel Meet

New Delhi: Amid uncertainty over Congress President Rahul Gandhi stepping down, Congress Parliamentary Panel (CPP) is meeting on Saturday. Whether Rahul would be assuming the position of leader of Congress in Lok Sabha might be cleared today.

The first meeting of the newly-elected Lok Sabha MPs and members of the Upper House will be attended by CPP chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Rahul and other top leaders. While Sonia could be re-elected as chairperson of the CPP, party leaders wonder whether Rahul would clear the air on the role that he would like to assume.

Senior leaders Ahmed Patel, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mallikarjun Kharge, A K Antony, P Chidambaram, Anand Sharma, KC Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh and Randeep Surjewala are scheduled to attend the meeting during which the party’s concerns regarding EVMs will also be discussed.
