Puri : BJP’s national tribal convention from today

Puri: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will inaugurate BJP’s two-day national tribal convention at Odisha’s pilgrim city here starting from today, informed Sate Janajati Morcha president and MLA Rabi Nayak.

BJP’ s national president Amit Shah will attend the mega convention tomorrow, he added saying Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu and Tripura Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma will also attend the national tribal convention among others.

Around 5,000 representatives of tribal communities along with tribal leaders, MLAs and MPs from across the country would join the convention, organised in by the BJP Janjati Morcha, the ST wing of the saffron party.

In the two-day meet, the saffron leaders will discuss on various rights of tribals  from across the country as well as tribal welfare programmes initiated by Narendra Modi Government at the Centre.

Notably, Puri has become the focus for both the BJP and ruling BJD ahead of the general elections.

On January 25, Odisha government organized a mega convention of farmers here and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik started distributing financial benefits to farmers under Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme.
