Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann all set to marry Dr Gurpreet Kaur today

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is all set to tie the knot with Dr Gurpreet Kaur today. They will get married in an intimate ceremony in Chandigarh where only family and close friends have been invited.

The 48-year-old chief minister separated from his first wife, Inderpreet Kaur, in 2015. He has two children from his first marriage (daughter Seerat Kaur Mann and son Dilshan Mann) who lives in US.

Dr Gurpreet Kaur is a 32-year-old and her family is from Pehowa in the Kurukshetra district. Kaur’s father, Inderjit Singh, is a farmer, and his mother Mata Raj Kaur is a homemaker.

She completed her MBBS from a private university in Haryana four years ago. She had enrolled for MBBS in 2013 in Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College and completed in 2018.

Just hours before tying the knot, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s would-be bride on Thursday said the auspicious day has come.

“Din Shagna Da Chadyaa (the auspicious day has come (for her wedding),” would-be bride Gurpreet Kaur tweeted, by posting her photo.

In her Twitter account, she posted a picture of Jangir Kaur, 80, from Barnala, who turned into poster women of the farmers’ agitation against three Central farm laws and had received lots of praise on the social media.

In her profile on Twitter, Gurpreet Kaur, who is a doctor by profession, wrote, “Daughter of Soil”.

The wedding ceremony will be attended by Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and his family.
