Priest dies after falling while garlanding Hanuman statue in Tamil Nadu

Namakkal: A 53-year-old priest died after he fell while garlanding an 18-feet idol of Hanuman in Tamil Nadu’s Namakkal town.

The decease priest has been identified as Rajan alias Venkatesan.

According to sources in Namakkal Police, Venkatesan was severely injured on his head after he fell down from the stage during a ritual on Sunday. He was admitted to a private hospital in Salem by the state government’s Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment trust (HR&CE). However, Venkatesan breathed his last due to blood loss while undergoing treatment in the hospital.
