President, PM condole Amritsar train accident deaths

Amritsar: President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railways Minister Piyush Goyal along with others condoled Amritsar train accident deaths today.

Taking to his twitter handle, President Kovind said, “Shocked to hear about the tragedy on rail tracks in Amritsar, Punjab. Understand Indian Railways and local authorities are taking steps to help affected people. Heartfelt condolences to bereaved families.”

Likewise, PM Modi on his tweeter handle said, “Extremely saddened by the train accident in Amritsar. The tragedy is heart-wrenching. My deepest condolences to families of those who lost their loved ones & I pray that the injured recover quickly. Have asked officials to provide immediate assistance.”

“Shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic train incident that occurred in Amritsar. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. I pray for the injured to recover quickly. Railways is conducting immediate relief and rescue operations,” tweeted Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

More than 50 persons died in the mishap that took place at Joda Phatak in Amritsar of Punjab this evening.

Meanwhile, the rescues operation is going on in war footage while more than 100 injured persons have been admitted to different government and private hospitals for treatment.
