Pragya Singh Thakur’s remark on Nathuram Godse is unforgivable: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday condemned the statement of BJP candidate from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat  Pragya Singh Thakur on Nathuram Godse and said that he would never be able to forgive her from his heart.

Yesterday, Thakur called Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse a “patriot”.

In an interview to television channel News24 today, the Prime Minister said these type of statements are completely unacceptable and must be condemned.

“The comments on Gandhi and Godse are deplorable, disgusting and are not language fit for civilised society. Those who say such things should think hundred times. Though she has tendered apology for her remarks, I will not be able to forgive her from my heart”, BJP tweeted quoting PM Modi’s interview to the private channel.

This the first time the Prime Minister has come down heavily on Thakur, an accused in the Malegaon Blasts case. Earlier, he endorsed her candidature saying she is a “symbol” for those who described Hindus as terrorists.
