Popular Bhajan singer Vinod Agarwal passes away

Popular Bhajan singer Vinod Agarwal is no more. He passed away around 4 am on Tuesday in Mathura at the age of 63, news agency ANI reported.

As per reports Agarwal was admitted in a critical condition to a private hospital in Mathura after he complained of chest pain on Sunday. He was put on ventilator. However, on Tuesday he died due to multiple organ failure.

Born in New Delhi in 1955, the great singer’s unique style of bhajan singing is quite popular. He settled down in Vrindavan for his devotion towards Lord Krishna.

At the age of 7 years he came to Mumbai when his parents migrated from Delhi. At 12 he learned to play Harmonium. He got married at the age of 20 years to Smt. Kusum Lata Agarwal from Delhi and has two children; son Jatin and daughter Shikha. He was a great devotee of Lord Shree Krishna.

Agarwal was called Sankirtan Samrat. He has written bhajans in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi. He has performed in around 1500 live concerts in India and several other countries including U.K, Italy, Singapore, Switzerland, France, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Thailand, Nepal and Dubai. He has lent voice in about 115 Audio Cassettes, CD’s and VCD’s which have been released by the top most audio companies in India. His recordings are aired often in various TV channels.
