Polling For Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Kerala Begins

Tamil Nadu: The Assembly Election 2021 has begun for 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu, 30 assembly seats in Puducherry, and 140 assembly seats for Kerala at 7.00 am on Tuesday.

The Election Commission has deployed adequate number of security personnels for the smooth conduct of the poll. The election commission has said that the voting will taking place according to COVID-19 protocols such as checking the temperature of voters.

The voters have to wear masks and maintain social distancing at the booths.

Tamil Nadu is witnessing a fierce battle between arch-rivals All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).

In Puducherry, Of the 30 assembly seats, five are reserved for the Scheduled Caste candidates.

Actor-turned-politicians like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have cast their votes to set an example for the people.

In Kerala, the fate of 957 candidates would be decided by an electorate of 1,41,62,025 women, 1,32,83,724 men and 290 transgender voters.

Polling is taking place according to strict Covid protocols and due to the Covid pandemic the number of polling booths has been increased to 40,771.
