PM Modi lead nation to pay homage to BR Amedkar on his death anniversary

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday led the nation in paying tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar on his 64th death anniversary .

PM Modi paid floral tributes at the Statue of Ambedkar at Parliament House Complex this morning.

In his tweet, Prime Minister Modi said Baba Saheb dedicated his life for social justice and gave a unique gift to the country in the form of constitution, which is the cornerstone of the Indian democracy.

He said, a grateful nation will always be indebted to him.

 

President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawarchand Gehlot Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi and Members of Parliament also paid floral tribute at Dr Ambedkar’s statue.

Dr Ambedkar, also known as the father of the Indian Constitution, died on this day in 1956. The day is observed every year as Mahaparinirvan Diwas.
