PM Modi launches Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Ranchi

Ranchi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched the Ayushman Bharat Yojana also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in Jharkhand’s Ranchi.

According to reports, more than 50 crore people of 10 crore families of the country will be covered under the world’s largest healthcare scheme.

The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana will allow a beneficiary to take cashless benefits of Rs 5 lakh from any public/private empanelled hospitals in 26 states of the country.

Apart from this, the PM also launched 10 wellness centres in Jharkhand and laid the foundation stones of medical colleges in Chaibasa and Koderma.

Notably, the National Health Agency (NHA), the apex body implementing the PMJAY scheme, launched a website – mera.pmjay.gov.in – last week. Besides, it launched a helpline number (14555) to help prospective beneficiaries check if their name is there in the final list.

People can visit the website or call up the helpline to check their enrollment.
