Paytm Founder’s Secretary & 2 Others Arrested For Blackmailing

New Delhi: Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma’s long time secretary Sonia Dhawan and two others were arrested in Noida on Monday for allegedly trying to extort Rs. 20 crore from him. They had threatened the e-wallet giant that they would leak stolen personal data and information, which were stolen by Dhawan.

Notably, Sonia Dhawan has worked with Vijay Shekhar Sharma for 10 years. She planned the extortion bid along with another Paytm employee Devender Kumar and her husband Rupak Jain. Sonia had threatened to leak data and misuse information to cause the firm loss and dent its public image.

A fourth person named Rohit Chomal from Kolkata, who is also involved in the matter is missing. Chomal was the one who made the extortion call to Mr Sharma’s brother Ajay Shekhar Sharma.
