Passengers On-Board Jet Airways Flight Suffer Nose, Ear Bleeds

Mumbai: A Jet Airways morning flight flying between Mumbai and Jaipur had an air turnback to Mumbai airport after over 30 persons on-board the flight suffered nose and ear bleedings. Besides, there were others who complained of severe headache on the flight. A senior DCGL official revealed that the cabin crew of Jet Airways flight 9W697 forgot to select the bleed switch during climb, due to which the incident occurred.

Out of the 166 passengers on-board, 30 have suffered from nose bleeding whereas a few suffered ear bleeding. As per doctors, all of them suffered from Barotrauma, which are injuries caused due to difference in air pressure. It has informed that all the passengers are stable now. They may have mild conducive deafness for some time and may have to avoid air travel for the next few days.

A Jet Airways spokesperson said all passengers were deplaned and first aid was administered to them. All the passengers were treated by the Airport doctors.

The cabin crew of the flight has been suspended till the investigation is completed. Besides, airline company is making alternate flight arrangements for the passengers.
