Over 3 crore teens aged 15-18 receive first dose of Covid-19 vaccine

New Delhi: More than 3 crore teens have received with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, since the beginning of vaccination drive for children aged between 15 to 18 years on January 3, informed Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya.

Reportedly, in a short span of time a good number of teenagers have been vaccinated with the first dose of Covid vaccine.

Health Minster Mandaviya took to his official Twitter account and wrote “Great sense of responsibility & enthusiasm among Young IndiaClapping hands sign. Over 3 crore youngsters between the 15-18 age group have received 1st dose of the COVID19 vaccine Syringe.”

He has further appealed to all eligible youngsters to get vaccinated at the earliest.

On December 25, the Prime Minister had announced that the vaccination for the 15-18 age group would begin from January 3. As of now only Bharat Biotech’s indigenously-made Covaxin will be available for vaccinating this age bracket.

The vaccination process for a third precautionary dose of vaccine for health workers, frontline workers and vulnerable senior citizens has begun from January 10.
