Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik to visit Vajpayee in AIIMS today

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will visit the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Thursday to inquire about the health condition of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

According to the latest health bulletin by AIIMS, there is no improvement in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s health and he continues to be on life support.

Vajpayee is under the supervision of Director of AIIMS Dr Randeep Guleria. A team of doctors from the nephrology, gastroenterology, pulmonology and cardiology departments is keeping round-the-clock check on the ailing leader

Several Union Ministers visited the ailing leader at AIIMS on last evening and today to enquire about his health.

The 93-year-old saffron leader has been away from public life since 2009.

Vajpayee became the Prime Minister of the country for 13 days in 1996, 13 months in 1998 and for almost six years from 1999. He is regarded as one of the tallest leaders of his party.

Notably, Patnaik had served as the Union Minister for Steel and Mines under Vajpayee Government from March 1998 to March 2000.
