New Delhi: The Delhi to Kathmandu bus service have been partially affected due to the Nepal unrest, said reliable reports on Friday. One of the buses of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has been stopped in Nepal.
Regarding the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus service operating between Delhi and Kathmandu, Delhi Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh told the media that, “Two buses were operated by us and two buses by Nepal (On the Delhi to Kathmandu route). Currently, one of our buses is stopped there due to the situation.”
He further added that, “We have suspended this route until the situation normalizes. The bus is safe and at a secure location. We will restart the service as soon as the situation improves. There is no cause for concern.”
The Nepal protests began on September 8, 2025, in Kathmandu and other major cities, including Pokhara, Butwal, and Birgunj, following the government’s imposition of a ban on major social media platforms, citing concerns over tax revenue and cybersecurity.
The death toll from the ongoing Gen Z protests in Nepal has claimed 51 lives, as per the latest figures released by the country’s Ministry of Health and Population on Friday.
Of these, 30 individuals were killed by gunshots, while 21 others succumbed to burns, wounds, and other injuries, the ministry confirmed.
