NEET 2021 paper leak racket busted in Jaipur; 8 including candidate, invigilator arrested

Jaipur: Jaipur police arrested eight people on the ground of cheating and paper leak of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2021. Reports said that this also includes a candidate identified as Dineshwari Kumari (18) and the invigilator as Ram Singh. Apart from them the in-charge of exam centre’s administration unit Mukesh has also been identified.

The candidate’s family allegedly agreed to pay Rs. 30 lakh for getting the paper solved. The accused used mobile phone to leak the paper to a solver at another location and help with the answer.

The paper started at 2 pm and it was leaked at 2:30 pm through WhatsApp.The paper leaked from Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology (RIET) NEET exam center in Jaipur.

After the exam started, accused Ram Singh and Mukesh clicked pictures of the question paper from their mobile phone and sent the same to 2 men in a Jaipur apartment in Chitrakoot area through WhatsApp. Following this the question paper was then forwarded to the one who agreed to pay the amount in Sikar who solved the paper, said DCP Richa Tomar. She added that the hunt is on for those who prepared the answer key in Sikar.

This comes a day after the exam and three days after an alleged leak was reported. The exam conducting body, National Testing Agency (NTA) had, however, denied any leak.

Earlier, there was a case of fraud in JEE Main examination. A private coaching institute had allegedly hacked an examination centre. According to the CBI investigation, hackers used to sit in a distant place on behalf of the students and try to take the exam. As per the CBI probe, coaching centres were demanding Rs 12 to Rs 15 lakh per student.
