Naxals Blow Up Police Vehicle In Maharashtra, 15 Security Personnel Killed

Gadchiroli: At least 15 security personnel of the Maharashtra Police were killed on Wednesday when Naxals triggered an IED blast and blew up a police vehicle in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district.

The Quick Response Team (QRT) of Maharashtra Police were travelling in the vehicle when the blast took place at Kurkheda near Jamurkheda.

According to reports, there were 16 people in the vehicle.

The blast was followed by a heavy exchange of fire between police and Naxals at the site of attack where as many as 200 Maoists are hiding.

The entire area is being cordoned off. Further details are awaited.
