More than 300 Delhi police personnel test positive for Covid-19

New Delhi: Amid the rising Covid cases including Omicron variant in the capital city of India, over 300 Delhi Police personnel have tested positive for the deadly virus.

Reportedly, among the Covid positive Delhi police personnel the Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Additional Commissioner Chinmoy Biswal have also been detected with the coronavirus.

All of the police personnel belong to different units of the force and are currently under quarantine.

Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana had issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for all police personnel. He said that all the police personnel should wear proper face masks and follow social distancing. Besides this, he said that they should practice proper hand hygiene while they are performing their duties.

It is to be noted that about 22,751 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in the national capital during the last twenty-four hours. It also said that is the highest tally of Covid-19 cases in Delhi since May 1, 2021. As of now, there are 60,733 active cases of Covid-19 in the state.
