Mastermind of Pulwama terror attack gunned down in J&K, 4 security personnel martyred

Srinagar: In a major success to security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir they gunned down the mastermind of Pulwama attack Ghazi Rasheed alias Kamran along with an aide Mufti Abdullah, during a gun battle in Pinglan village near here today.

At least four security personnel including a Major-rank officer attained martyrdom during the operation also.

The firing took place during a joint operation by Indian Army’s 55 Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF and Special Operation Group in Pinglan village in the area early in the moring.

As per the report, a cordon was launched in Pingelan village in the wee hours today after intelligence input on the presence of close aides of Adil Ahmad Dar, the JeM suicide bomber involved in the Pulwama terror attack that killed 40 CRPF jawans on February 14. The terrorists holed up in a house opened fire at the security forces after the latter fired warning shots towards the suspected spot.

The terrorists were cornered and eliminated by an explosion carried out by the security forces to blow the house in which they were hiding in.

The martyred security personnel in today’s firing have been identified as Major DS Dondial, Head Constable Save Ram, Sepoy Ajay Kumar and Sepoy Hari Singh.
