Massive Fire Breaks Out In Mumbai After Oil Tanker Crash, 1 Dead

Mumbai: One person was killed and many others suffered serious injuries after fire broke out in south Mumbai’s Wadala area on Monday night after an oil tanker burst into flames following an accident.

While the driver of the tanker was killed instantly, the drivers of the other vehicle sustained grievous injuries. As per reports, the incident occurred around 10.40 pm near the RTO office on the Sewri-Chembur Road in Mumbai’s Wadala. The tanker was heading towards Chunabhatti and had hit another vehicle due to which it lost balance and exploded. According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place when the speeding oil tanker was overtaking the tempo from the left side.

A fire official present at the spot said, “The driver of the tanker is dead and and the driver of the tempo is injured. Since it was a local tanker covering a short distance, there was no one other than the driver.”
