Massive fire breaks out at multi-storey Avigna Park apartment in Mumbai, one dead

Mumbai: A massive fire broke out on the 19th floor of a residential building in Mumbai’s Lalbaug area. The fire broke out on the 19th-floor of the Avighna park towers building at Currey Road. At least one person has been reported dead in the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Arun Tiwari (30) who tried to save himself from the fire on the 19th floor of the 61-storeyed Avigna Park jumps off and was injured. He was immediately taken to the KEM hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

On being informed about the incident, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar and other senior district officials have reached the spot to oversee rescue operations.

According to the Fire brigade Mumbai officials, the incident was reported from the Avighna park around 11.50 am. The fire mishap that took place has been categorized  and declared  Level-4 fire. A level-4 fire is considered a very high danger category.

Firefighters rushed inside the building and saw black plumes of smoke coming out.
