Samba (Jammu and Kashmir): Martyred army personnel Ravinder Sambyal’s wife Neeru Sambyal has set an exemplary precedence of strong grit and indomitable strength by joining the Indian army as a lieutenant.
Neeru had married late Rifleman Ravinder in April 2013. But, unfortunately the army personnel lost his life while serving in his regiment in 2015. By that time she had a two-year-old daughter. However, she carried forward the responsibilities of a mother while deciding to step into shoes of her late husband.
Lt. Neeru got commissioned on September 8, 2018 after successfully acing her 49 weeks of army training. She had to compete against 26 ladies during her Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) selection exam.
