A man allegedly tried to smuggle red sandalwood in filmy style, inspired by the superhit Telegu movie ‘Pushpa.’ However, he did not prove as lucky as Allu Arjun as he got arrested by Maharashtra police.
Identified as Yaseen Inayatullah, the accused tried to replicate the trick used in the movie into smuggling red sandalwood in his truck.
Reportedly, Yaseen was allegedly smuggling sandalwood from Karnataka-Andhra border to Maharashtra. He was nabbed by the Maha police when he crossed the border and entered Gandhi Chowk area at Meeraj Nagar in Sangli district of Maharashtra.
The officials seized red sandalwood worth Rs 2.45 cr from the truck of the accused. Yaseen was lucky when crossed Andhra border, and did not face any trouble there. However, Maharashtra police did not spare any details hence, he got arrested therein.
In the most talked movie ‘Pushpa,’ actor Allu Arjun played the role of a sandalwood smuggler by loading the truck with sandalwood and later milk. The same way Yaseen tried to load the truck with red sandalwood and covered it with fruits and vegetable boxes on top. He also pasted a sticker of COVID-19 essential products on his truck.
