Man poses as Army officer, develops physical relationships and dupes money from women
A 40-year-old man was arrested from Sarojini nagar for allegedly impersonating as an Army captain and duping women.
Lucknow: In a shocking case, a 40-year-old man was arrested from Sarojini nagar for allegedly impersonating as an Army captain and duping women. Posing as a Army officer in Instagram, the man would lure women into a relationship and then extort money and then cut all ties.
The man, identified as Haider Ali Beg of Balasore district of Odisha, would use the name of Hartik Beglo to trap his victims. He would then develop a relationship with them mostly physical and then ask for money citing various reasons. Once he received the money he would sever the ties with the women and then move on to trap another woman.
He would pretend as an Army officer to the women. He had got photos in the Army uniform and fake identity proofs to stand his ground in front of the women.
Police said, the imposter would lead a luxurious lifestyle by the deceived money. However, his game ended as a woman found something fishy. The woman then lodged a complaint and police soon traced Beg. The woman said that she was going through a tough relationship in her marriage as her husband was an alcoholic and often abused her. In the meanwhile, Beg started wooing this woman and on the pretext of marrying her, developed a relationship with her. He then visited her in her home and established physical relationship with her.
