Man kills son, slices body into pieces to marry daughter-in-law in Punjab

Faridkot, Punjab: In a bizarre kind of incident, a 62-year-old man killed his son following an illicit relationship with his daughter-in-law and sliced the deceased’s body into pieces in Faridkot area in Punjab recently.

As per the report, the accused identified as Chhota Singh of Dabri Khana village of Faridkot’s Jaitu sub-division was having a relationship with his daughter-in-law since long. Arguments have erupted between Chhota and his son on the issue on several occasions.

Police said, on last Tuesday Chhota hatched a plan and attacked the victim and his son Rajwinder Singh with a sharp weapon while sleeping and killed him. Later, he cut down the dead body into pieces to put into a plastic bag and dump in sewerage.

The incident came to fore after Chhota’s nephew Gurcharan Singh found blood stains at the house and handed over him to police on suspicion.

Police have arrested the accused and started an investigation into the case.

Cases under Section 302 (murder) and 201 (disappearance of evidence of offence) have been slapped against the accused.

Rajvir Singh, the elder brother of the victim, said Rajwinder had married one Jasvir Kaur around 12 years ago and the couple has two children. Their relationship was going through a bad phase due to Chhota for past few months, he added.
