Mamata Banerjee Takes Oath As West Bengal Chief Minister For Third Time

Kolkata: Mamata Banerjee took oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal today for the third time amid the Covid situation in the state. The state Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar administered the oath to Mamata Banerjee.

Mamata Banerjee won in the Bengal election and secured a third consecutive term.

The oath ceremony took place with proper Covid protocols at the Raj Bhavan. It was a low-key event in which chief ministers of other states and leaders of other political parties were not invited.

After eight rounds of polling in the state, the votes were counted and results were announced on May 2. Trinamool won 213 of 292 seats while its rivalry party BJP finished second with 77 seats.
