Main accused of Bulandshahr violence Yogesh Raj arrested

Bulandshahr: In a major breakthrough, Uttar Pradesh police arrested Yogesh Raj, a local Bajrang Dal leader and one of the main accused in the Bulandshahr violence on Thursday.

Police arrested Raj a day after the arrest of another prime accused Kalua in the case in which inspector Subodh Kumar Singh was killed by a mob on December 3.

With the arrest Raj and Kalua, the total number of people arrested in the violence came to 31. An Army jawan named Jitendra Malik also has been arrested for his involvement in the incident.

The inspector along with a youth had died during the violence that had erupted after some cow carcasses were found in a field near Mahaw village in the district.

The district police had registered an FIR against 27 named people and 50-60 unidentified people at the Siyana police station and began the investigation.
