Madhya Pradesh Announces Night Curfew In Bhopal & Indore

Bhopal: In wake of  surging Covid-19 cases the Madhya Pradesh government has imposed night curfew in Bhopal and Indore from today after both cities have witnessed a spike in Covid cases in the last few weeks.

The decision was taken by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan after reviewing the Covid-19 situation in both the cities at a meeting on Tuesday.

The night curfew will be in effect from 10pm-6am

The Home Department have announced that all commercial activities would be banned in Bhopal and Indore between 10 pm and 6 am. Patrolling will be intensified to ensure that people remain indoors and not come outside.

The market will remain closed after 10 pm in 8 cities of the state which are  Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain, Ratlam, Chhindwara, Burhanpur, Betul and Khargone. There will be no curfew like situation in these cities but the market will inevitably remain closed.

On Tuesday,  817 new coronavirus cases were detected in Madhya Pradesh, the state’s highest in a single-day in 2021, taking the infection tally to 2,61,031.
