Legend Lata Mangeshkar Contributes Rs 7 Lakh To Maharashtra CM Relief Fund

Mumbai: The legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has contributed Rs 7 lakh to the Maharashtra CM Relief Fund to support the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has expressed his gratitude for her kind gesture during the current Covid situation in the country as well as in Maharashtra state.

The renowned playback legend had also donated Rs 25 lakh in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic when Maharashtra was going through a severe rise in Covid infection cases.

Earlier, Ayushmann Khurrana along with his wife Tahira Kashyap had contributed to Maharashtra Chief Minister’s relief fund in an effort to fight against the second wave of coronavirus. Taking to Instagram, he shared a statement that reads, “We have been in the eye of the storm since last year. This pandemic has broken our hearts, made us endure pain and suffering like never before, showed us how solidarity with one another can make us handle this humanitarian crisis. Today, again, this pandemic asks us to show fortitude, resilience, and mutual support.”.

As of now the state recorded 68,813 deaths and 46,02,472 cases till date both highest in the country. The Covid vaccination for people above 18 years of age has begun in some parts of Maharashtra due to lack vaccine doses availability.
