New Delhi: The last rites of eminent playback singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, known by his stage name KK, will be held in Mumbai today.
As per sources, the timings for KK’s final viewing and funeral have been altered and the last rites are deferred to 1 pm at Versova cremation ground.
KK passed away on Tuesday night at the age of 53, a few hours after his performance at an event at Nazrul Mach in Calcutta. He was later brought to the CMRI hospital, where he was declared dead.
The singer’s body was taken to Rabindra Sadan after a post-mortem examination was conducted at state-run SSKM Hospital. The preliminary post-mortem report has cited the cause of death to be “normal”, without any trace of foul play.
However, the detailed post-mortem report, along with chemical analysis, will be available only after 72 hours, said sources in Kolkata Police.
Notably, the West Bengal government on Wednesday paid last respect to renowned Bollywood singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, with a gun salute to his mortal remains.
